Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show 2009

The Be Beautiful Be Yourself Jet Set Fashion Show logo is an artful synthesis of beauty and substance. The three bird-like elements in the design are actually stylized chromosomes. This is particularly appropriate given that Down syndrome occurs when an individual is born with three copies of the 21st chromosome instead of two. The darker shaded element represents the extra chromosome.

The result is an elegant logo that succeeds in capturing the genetic origin of Down syndrome while simultaneously emphasizing the beauty of people with Down syndrome.
